Go on the Wellness Cruise!
A 'Wellness cruise' is not an oxymoron. The eleventh CHIP Wellness Cruise promises to be unlike any other cruise on which you have been. The cruise will feature vegetarian food choices at every meal, wellness experts talking on nutrition, prevention of heart, diabetes and other lifestyle diseases, humor, physical fitness, and inspiring music by pianist Dr. Lily Diehl.
The 8-day cruise will be on Carnival's luxury liner, Miracle, traveling February 11-19, 2008 from Ft. Lauderdale, FL to the exotic Caribbean islands of St. Maarten, St. Lucia, and St. Kitts. This will be the eleventh Wellness Cruise organized by Dr. Don Alsbro, developer of Dump Your Plump, a nationwide exercise and weight management program. Dr. Hans Diehl, DrHSc, MPH is a best selling author, inspiring speaker, cardiovascular researcher and founder of the Lifestyle Medicine Institute. His Coronary Health Improvement Project (CHIP) www.CHIPhealth.com is a worldwide program designed to help reverse lifestyle diseases. CHIP now has thousands of graduates with clinical results published in many medical journals. In 2004, Hans was named as one of the top 20 wellness "superheroes" in America.
Dr. Don Alsbro, Ed.D, CHES is a retired college health and physical education professor and author of several wellness books, including Take the Wellness Road. He is founder of Rainbow Wellness and the nationwide weight management program 'Dump Your Plump' www.DumpYourPlump.com.
Dr. Lily Diehl, DMA is a concert pianist and recording artist. She has one of the largest music studios in Southern California. Her students consistently place high in piano competitions. On previous CHIP cruises her 3 Musketeers Plus 1 musical group have thrilled the entire ship with stirring performances.
Heinz Linser, PTA, MPH is a master massage therapist who involves several massage modalities. He incorporates Swedish Massage, Sport Massage and Trigger Point Massage into his practice located in San Bernadino, CA. Heinz was a masseuse for the 1984 Olympics in Los Angeles.
Vicky Griffin, MPA, MACN has authored numerous books including, Diet and Stress: Is What You're Eating, Eating You? and Living Free: Finding Freedom from Habits that Hurt. Her three cookbooks feature plant-based recipes. Vicky is editor of Balance, a health magazine developed in conjunction with Adventist Health Systems.
Dr. James Anderson, MD, Univ. of Kentucky is an expert on diabetes, fiber and coronary risk factors. He was involved in the "oat bran era" and referred to as 'Dr. Oat Bran.' Recently he has reported on weight losses of over 100 lbs for more than 300 people using intense medical/behavioral intervention. Jim is working on his sixth popular book, The Hundred Pound Solution. Jim lives in Lexington, KY.
Heather Leno is an applied nutrition consultant and author of Vital Vittles cookbook, showing easy ways to convert regular recipes into healthier ones using plant-based ingredients. The distinguishing feature of a CHIP cruise is the availability of vegetarian food at every meal. On our previous cruise, Heather worked with the chefs creating healthy, delicious meals that became the rage on the ship.
Jeff Haebig, Ph.D., BBBM (Body/brain Boogie Man) has been called the country's rock n role-model using hips and lips to convey wellness ideas and ways to keep the body and brain vibrantly alive.
